About Us

Tina Bjorklund

In broadcasting school, I won the “Best Production Overall” award at graduation. I then immediately was hired by the old KEYF-FM when it was a new age/jazz station. During this time a friend had a mobile Dj business and I got my first taste of that helping her. Back then, milk cartons were filled with vinyl records were hauled around along with huge speakers and turntables.

It was also around this time I wandered into Spokane Public Radio and was hired. There, I was a board operator and announcer and given the Soundspace program to develop. I had incorporated poetry and local poets with space music and such. After KEYF,  I went on to KAYU and learned master control while keeping the public radio position.

I have been fortunate to host and MC many blues festivals and events and was even the master of ceremonies for none other than B.B. King at his concert as well as Charlie Musselwhite and “Too Slim” Tim Langford with an onstage interview with him, to name a few.

I have always felt pretty versatile with music and began filling in for many local producers at KPBX. My love of soul and blues were highlighted when I inherited the “Blues Review” and won “Best Blues Radio Program” 3 years in a row. I began hosting/MC’ing blues Festivals and cruises.  I was called back to develop a new show, “Village Rock” which I did for 5 years at KPBX, showcasing different genres of popular and alternative music. Then, the blues slot opened again, where I created  “The Blues Kitchen” and have been honored to have been a judge a few times for the Inland Empire Blues Society’s blues competitions.   Since then, I have been producing and narrating audio books for Amazon in my own studio. I also have my mobile Dj business and have been selected to be the primary Dj service for Bozzi Media (Spokane Coeur d’ Alene Living magazine) for all their signature events the past 4 years and do many weddings along with other special events!
